Q & A Part 1: Meet the Chef

At V3, we are proud of the food that we, and you, create! Our blog team had the chance to sit down with the chef behind V3, Justin Neidinger, to learn a little more about him and his passion for pizza.

How Did You Get Involved in the Chef Biz?

Chef Justin: Honestly, I’ve been cooking since I was 14. I got a job in an amusement park slinging tacos and have worked in pretty much every type of restaurant from white tablecloth to fast-casual since then.

What Drives Your Passion for What You Do?

Chef Justin: I love pretty much everything about food from experiencing new flavor combinations to the nostalgia of eating the foods I had when I was growing up. Sitting around a table of good friends or with family is one of the great pleasures in life and the best vehicle to get those experiences is food.

What Attracted You to the V3 Concept?

Chef Justin: That’s an easy one — V3’s commitment to quality was the largest draw for me. There are a lot of other concepts out there doing great things, and while I’m biased, I feel the quality level at V3 is setting the bar in fast-casual pizza quality.

What is Your Favorite Toppings/Type of Pizza?

Chef Justin: This is a hard one. I like so many different types of pizza, and we have so many toppings that it’s hard to pick just one. I’m a big fan of spicy food, so I tend to eat a lot of our Spicy Red Sauce and Mango Habanero Sauce as a base, but in the same breath, our House Made Buttermilk Ranch is also delicious. Ok, I can’t decide on a single, absolute must-have favorite because there are too many, so I’m just going to give you my current go-to item. I’m currently eating what I’ve dubbed as the “Hot Hawaiian” which is Mango Habanero sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, ham, pineapple, and bacon on traditional crust. If I’m feeling fancy, I add a little fresh grated Himalayan salt.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of Being a Pizza Master?

Chef Justin: I’m a bit of a nerd, so I read cookbooks or novels, play board games, video games, and go to the gym to try and fight off all the pizza I eat. I can’t complain though because eating pizza for a living is a pretty good gig.
